Early Bird-Winter Basketball -11/12 yrs girls

Winter Basketball is available for kids ages 3 to 12 at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA. Children will be placed on teams with others close to their age. There are different groups: 4U for ages 3-4 and 6U for ages 5-6, and both of these groups have boys and girls playing together. For the 8U, 10U, and 12U groups, boys and girls play on separate teams. These groups might change a little depending on how many kids sign up, and while kids can play in older groups, they cannot play in younger ones. All teams are coached by volunteers, and coaches will share the schedule as soon as they can. For the youngest groups, 4U games are usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, starting at 5:30pm, with occasional Saturday games (picture day). 4U and 6U teams will have practice 30 minutes before their game. These teams will spend about an hour total at the gym. Kids ages 7 to 12 will practice once a week for about 45 minutes to an hour, and their games are usually on Saturdays. If a game needs to be rescheduled, it might be during the week. Games for these older groups usually last about an hour and 15 minutes. Coaches will contact families the week before the season begins, and everyone will get the rules before the first game.
